From the beginning...

In 1989 when we bought the Mill Pool we realised that buried away in the depths of the Cheshire countryside we were never going to get rich quickly.

The Mill Pool's idyllic location, though, seduced us completely and set us off in pursuit of local tastes.

Big changes have come and gone in the restaurant business since we arrived here but our policy has always remained the same: keep it simple and keep it good!

Fiddly flavour fusion fads can stay in the cities. Out here we've got a good idea what our customers like ~ the fact that they keep coming back for more tells us we must be doing something right...

So what you'll find on our menus are traditional, local and seasonal ingredients, freshly-cooked with a little imagination and all at amazing prices.

Twenty two years on, word-of-mouth is still our greatest advertising ally.
